Designing a plant shop in Figma was an exciting hobby project that allowed me to flex my creative muscles and explore the many features and capabilities of this powerful design tool. As a designer, I always enjoy working on projects that involve creating beautiful and functional user interfaces, and designing a plant shop was the perfect opportunity to do just that.
Using Figma, I started by creating a basic template for the plant shop. I wanted the layout to be simple and clean, with plenty of white space to allow the products to stand out. Once I had the basic structure in place, I began to experiment with different design elements and effects, using Figma’s prototyping features to test out different interactions.
One of the key features of the finished prototype is the curved carousel that allows users to browse through the most popular plants. The carousel is both visually appealing and easy to use. Another feature is the zoom effect on the product cards. When the user hovers over a card, the image zooms in, allowing the user to see more detail and get a better picture of the product. This simple but effective effect adds a touch of interactivity to the design and makes the shopping experience even more engaging.
In addition to these elements, I also added a slider to the design. The slider allows users to view a series of plant images one at a time, using arrows to move back and forth. This allows users to quickly scan through a variety of plant images and find the ones they are interested in. Finally, I added video to the product cards so that the GIF plays when the user hovers over a card to provide users with a more engaging and immersive shopping experience. Many customers prefer to see products in action before making a purchase, and the short video allows them to do just that.
Overall, designing a plant shop in Figma was a fun and rewarding experience. It allowed me to explore the many features and capabilities of this design tool, and to experiment with different design elements and effects. The finished prototype is both beautiful and functional, with a range of interactive features that make the shopping experience more engaging and enjoyable for users. See in the video below.
